Sphere of Influence has immediate openings for software engineers for a Scaled Agile Framework environment (SAFe) software development project in Herndon, VA. This team develops software for large scale satellite command and control (C2) ground systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on programmer who can leverage the full range of software development technologies for an algorithm intensive software system. This is a great opportunity to join a small team working in a challenging technical domain.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Full software lifecycle development of Java EE algorithm intensive software applications
• Design and develop quality back end web services using Java EE
• Design and develop enticing user interface experiences using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Collaborate with colleagues and customers in delivering new features
• Build software that follows industry standard design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment models

What You Need for this Position:

• Hands on experience with Java programming language and platforms
• BS/BA in computer science or equivalent in related technical experience
• Capable of writing clean, reliable, elegant, and high performance code
• Great design and problem solving skills with a strong bias for quality and engineering excellence
• Experience with C++ and Oracle database is a plus
