Top Secret SCI clearance is required

Sphere of Influence is seeking a System Administrator to join our IC technology group that is developing an innovative shared big data platform for federal enterprises. This position assists developers, quality assurance, and platform users with development and operations Linux (RedHat, CentOS) environments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on system administrator who takes ownership and works independently on assigned tasks with little supervision.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Administer cloud environments and Linux server systems
• Monitor availability, backup and restore
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
• Resolve network and firewall issues
• Support developers and production support teams
• Participate on a development team to create solutions in an Agile environment
• Document installation, configuration, deployment and maintenance procedures

What You Need for this Position:

• Hands on experience as a system administrator with an emphasis on Linux
• Strong scripting skills using Bash, Awk, Perl, Python, or related
• BS/BA in computer science, information systems, engineering or equivalent in related technical experience
• Experience managing and deploying cloud based services is a plus
